Draft Addison County Regional Transportation Plan ACRPC is currently updating the Regional Transportation Plan, and we are seeking your comments. The September 30, 2007 draft is available for download in PDF format here.
Transportation Planning at ACRPC Working with the State of Vermont's Transportation Planning Initiative (TPI) the Addison County Regional Planning Commission undertakes transportation planning that encompasses all modes of transportation and incorporates citizen participation. The Transportation Advisory Committee is the main vehicle for local input into transportation planning. Every year, transportation funds are available for transportation studies in the region's communities. There is also a transportation section in the Regional Plan (which is not currently available online).
Safe Routes to School The VTrans Safe Routes to School program is intended to benefit children in primary and middle schools (K-8). Safe Routes to School (SR2S) is about children walking and biking to school: regularly, routinely, and safely. The Vermont SR2S program provides support in the form of funding and services to participating schools/school districts around the state. ACRPC acts as a regional coordinator for the VT SR2S program and supports participating schools in the region. Schools in Bristol, Middlebury, and New Haven applied to the SR2S program in the summer of 2006 and were selected to participate in the program. The schools are working to: Assess the safety of school travel routes
